-a line item for Disability Awareness is needed. The $520 is already figured into the budget but needs its own formal line

-Very happy to have our esteemed PTO President, Michelle, and appreciative of the Mitchell PTO
-Happy to have the upcoming International Night
-Happy to give students free books. (Used books before Winter Break, new books before summer vacation) "Kids who read a lot learn a lot!" (Or as my Grandpa said, "Reading is knowledge and knowledge is power")
-Asking for feedback on Coffee with the Principals mornings
-Ideas for new topics?
-Have some meetings before pickup rather than at drop off?
-How to bring more traffic into the family room?
-International Night Update (from the amazing chairwoman Shereen)
-Date set for February 10 from 6-8 pm
-Set up is by five regions
-Student volunteers as greeters with passports and programs
-Traditional garb is encouraged
-Auditorium for performance and displays, food in entry hall
-Five classrooms needed for "region rooms" for crafts and activities
-The Incredible Katie will bring items to add to Japanese tea ceremony display
-put out (air dry) clay so attendees can make pinch pot tea bowls
-Next International meeting will be January 12 at 4 pm in the family room
-$600 approved for sundries
-Science Olympiad is still recruiting students in second through fifth grades and coaches!
-Coaches' meeting in Jan
-Workshop on Feb. 2
-Next Scholastic book fair will be the week of January 30, running Monday through Wednesday
-Setup on Jan 27
-Other upcoming dates to note:
-Jan 12, next International Night committee meeting after school
-Jan 20, next Movie Night. (Secret Life of Pets-so totally funny!)
-preceded by the 2-3 grade Art Show featuring Solar Lights for the school!!!
-Feb 13 is NAAPID with lunch at 11:45
-Pizza kit info sent home before break, due back so kits will arrive in time for the Stupor Bowl
-PTO Board Nominations coming up. we will give information on the different positions at the March PTO meeting
-Family Science Fair Night with displays of the projects lining the hallways happens in March
-Talent Show tentatively June 2
-Washtenaw County Science Olympiad on June 3 at Pioneer High
-June 9 is Ice Cream Social
-Next PTO meeting is Tuesday, January 17 at 6 pm
