-Christine Payne and family did an incredible job on the Talent show
-Science Olympiad team was the biggest in Mitchell's history, thanks to all coaches and participants
-School is still legit, instruction is still happening
-Field day is Friday, June 1. As the school population has grown, Field day will be held for two grades at a time, Kindergarten and first together, second and third, and fourth and fifth grades.
-Next year both fourth and fifth grade classes will be in the modulars, and new ones are being added to accommodate the fourth graders.
-PTO President's notes:
-As the school grows the fifth grade camp budget and financing need to be overhauled.
-Ask for more grants
-limit drink sales to once per month (no more nickel and diming) and the volunteers MUST BE fourth and fifth grade parents
-Two years projected endowment fund set up, take more of the burden off parents
-Treasurer's notes:
-April's balance approx. 22K, some payments for misc. >end balance $20, 600
-Camp account balance $8K
-Old business:
-Ice Cream Social is Friday June 8 from 6-8 pm
-Wristband $10 in advance, $12 at door, presale June 1-6 only.
-Two wristband tables, one for presale pickups, the other day of sales. Both will have tickets?
-Fifth grade graduation is June 14 at 6pm, fourth grade parents needed to serve cake
-2018-19 PTO Board slate elections, unanimously passed. Bylaws unanimously passed.
-Event chairs still needed! Next year's filled chairs are :Fun Run (Amanda and Julie) and Scholastic Book Fairs (Kristen), chairs may recruit committees at will.
-Chairs still needed:
-Science Olympiad, Fall Fest, Ice Cream Social
-Classroom liaison/room parent coordinator, needs to be in place before next fall to foster communication between parents and PTO at large. Third and fourth grades particularly need this service.
