-Students are finishing first unit of inquiry, some teachers do end of unit celebrations
-Conferences are happening now
-Report card update. Used to be TL;DR, now much shorter, easier key, and IB narrative
-Modules update: waiting on paperwork to be signed by the Co-op
-Treasurer's Report with Wanda Perez
-Expenses related to Fun Run, Fall Fest, Spirit wear and insurance went through this month
-We'll get back pledge$ and grants from Fun Run
-Camp account: consists of Friday drink $ and what parents are paying
-We need $4K deposit for next year's fifth graders, payable this year
-PTOC (All schools in the AASPD PTO Council)
-Next meeting will cover how to generate more engagement in school communities, insurance, district requirements for social events
-$50 dues for voting rights, participation in training sessions
-Special Ed Millage Vote on Nov. 7. Principals are doing an informational meeting on October 25, all are welcome to attend.
-Fall Fest (Friday, October 28, 6-8pm) "Mitchell in Wonderland"
-Raffles, including one decorated pumpkin from each classroom
-Free admission, most activities are free
-No cake walk or soda game, per parents' requests
-Chance for kids to wear costumes, but no weapons, blood, full face masks
-SEDEXO fundraising update:
-Sarah got insurance, and approval last Friday! (Kick butt, girl!) Now just waiting for dates.
-This is very profitable and will help sustain fifth grade camp for all, teacher grants, etc.
-The deal is we get either flat rate or a percentage of sales for preparing and selling food at UM sporting events, whichever is higher
-Carpooling? sounds good.
-Science Olympiad:
-Cathleen has 5-6 leaders
-The event is May 12
-Inclusion Group
-Next meeting is Tuesday, November 14 at 4 pm
-Try google plus for easy communication?
-Black Men Read storytelling group, per Yodit.
-At school, after hours, community room?
-How to be of service to groups not traditionally serving on PTO board
-ICS: getting auction donations
-November 7 Millage Vote
-Nov. 2, Superintendant Swift will be answering questions at Scarlett Middle at 6:30
-renewal of Special Ed millage. The Special Ed costs are MANDATORY. If millage passes we will be reimbursed for these costs, if it does not pass, the $6 million will be a huge hit to school budgets
-Passes or fails on county wide vote
-Adjourn
