Better late than never (I hope) October PTO Meeting Notes

-Welcome from President Michell Foulkes, introductions
-Allen Foulkes read Treasurer's Report
     -PTO Thrift gave Mitchell $1K in October that usually comes in January plus an extra $1K
          -make letter of thanks to PTO Thrift
     -We are on track to continue funding activities such as camp
-Mr. Karr:
    -Pick up and drop off procedure review.  GO SLOWLY AND BE ORDERLY!
     -See Mr. Karr if you want to be on review committee
     -MI Artist Citizen Program.  Fifth graders get individual instruction, tuition sponsored
     -IB update: work to authorization to be World School Primary Years program
          -last step is visit in spring
     -Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for new wing
          -2nd expansion being planned
-Book Fair: three days, great turnout
     -made approx. $993 in cash, $300 coin drive
-First movie night made approx $640
     -next movie night is Nov. 11, Finding Dory
-Spirit Wear order will be in by end of month, possible spring order in March or April
-Fifth Grade camp is coming up
     -Chaperones aren't all being paid for, some able to pay
     -Ask Mr. Kriegbaum re: parents driving, if male chaperones needed, etc
-Science Olympiad: meeting Nov. 1, Michell has permission slips and info
     -COACHES NEEDED.  Your kid doesn't need to be involved if you want to coach, all coaches get background checks
     -how to advertise/rile excitement for SO?!
-Dia de los Muertos mural: all kids can turn in pics of deceased loved ones
-Aubree's 11-2, October 19th on Whitaker Road.  Holiday Shop presentation
-Donations for Fall Fest needed
     -2 liters of sodas, baked goods for cake walk
